Each week the Royal Bean has whole bean coffee freshly roasted of us by a local roaster.  This week our coffee will be Sumatra Lintong and Columbia Excelso

Sumatra Lingtong:

The dry fragrance has chocolate and caramel biscuit tones, but with a slight earthy and graham cracker graininess. Surprising fruits come forward in the wet aroma, even a momentary whiff of citrus, pineapple, dried plum, fig. It’s got great rustic sweetness, aromatic tree bark, cinnamon stick, black tea, and mulling spice in the finish.

Columbia Excelso:

Silky smooth and with a nutty finish. You’ll enjoy this Colombian any time of day. It is fragrant, mellow and brews a remarkably well-rounded cup of coffee.

I’ll try each week to offer more education on our weekly coffee.

When you think of a coffee house you sometimes think of hot drinks like coffee, mocha, lattés, hot tea, and so forth.  While we do have all of these products and much more, we also would like to share with you the cold drinks we offer.  The Royal Bean isn’t just somewhere to visit on a cold day, but also when it’s hot outside and you need something refreshing to cool off with.

The Royal Bean coffee house endeavors to provide our customers with fresh and high quality products coupled with the best service you can get.  However, this isn’t good enough for us.  We’re always working harder to provide our customers with unsurpassed excellence in everything we do.  In order to support our local economy and to provide the freshest products possible we purchase our whole bean coffee and espresso from a local roaster located in Raleigh, Stockton and Graham.  We make our own chocolate sauce and whip cream.  Our high quality sweets and bakery goods are freshly made for us by Manhattan Bakery located locally only minutes from the store.  Our sandwiches are freshly made by catering works and delivered to us several times a week to ensure that they are fresh.  They are also located only minutes from the store.  We are locally owned and operated.  We care about our customers, which you’ll recognize the moment you walk in our front doors and by the quality of the products we provide.  Please come check us out.  We cannot wait to meet you!  Thank you from the owner.

The Coffee Bean

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee_bean

Roasted Coffee beans.

A coffee bean is the seed of the coffee plant (the pit inside the red or purple fruit). Even though they are seeds, they are referred to as ‘beans’ because of their resemblance. The fruits, coffee cherries or coffee berries, most commonly contain two stones with their flat sides together. In a crop of coffee, a small percentage of cherries contain a single bean, instead of the usual two. This is called a peaberry. Coffee beans consist mostly of endosperm that contains 0.8 – 2.5 % caffeine, which is one of the main reasons the plants are cultivated. As coffee is one of the world’s most widely consumed beverages, coffee beans are a major cash crop, and an important export product for some countries. It is considered a regularly consumed beverage in the United States – as popular as soft drinks and even water – and because of the volume consumed, it is there that coffee is highest in demand.
