Who we are

Welcome to Royal Bean Coffee House — Raleigh, North Carolina’s Hippest Coffee House with the coolest Baristas.

The Royal Bean Coffee House is located in the historic Royal Bakery bread factory building, which is what our name was derived from. Back in 2005 the Royal Bakery was renovated into a mall and retail space. We were established within that same year. We’re located right across from the front gates of Meredith College on Hillsborough Street.

We are privately and locally owned coffee house. It’s very important for us to contribute to our local community. Our coffee is roasted right here in Raleigh, which is also our supplier for most of the products we carry. We pick up our coffee the day it was roasted to provide the freshest whole bean single origin coffee and espresso possible. Our bakery goods are provided from a local bakery located only minutes down the road from the Royal Bean Coffee House. They bake our goods per our order, which is delivered the same day they are baked. In addition we support our local community through the employment opportunities we provide.

The Royal Bean Coffee House plays host to local artists, musicians, and through regular events such as the “Open Poetry and Prose Mic Night”. We’re a great place for meetups, events, and simply a place for students to study and for anyone looking for premium coffee drinks. When you walk into the Royal Bean you’ll certainly be surprised at the spaciousness inside our coffee house with plenty of tables and couches to chill out.

Events:

On the first Thursday of each month is our ‘Open Mic’ Poetry night.

“Night on the Town” meets at the Royal Bean on the 4th Friday of each month for “coffee, conversation, and board games between 9PM until 11PM.”

Live music is scheduled for each Saturday between 8 and 10 P M. Please check our calendar on the right hand side for details. As always, our live musical performances are free.
