The Royal Bean Coffee House books music year round each Saturday between 8 and 10 PM.  Last Saturday, “Gary Mitchell”, performed live at the Royal Bean.  His performance was a remarkable showcase of talent and simply just plain fun.  Anyway, I wanted to show off that night with some pix.  Enjoy!  I know you wished you had been there! : )

The Royal Bean Coffee House will be host to Needlemouse and also Sarah Osborne.  The live music will start at 8PM and end at 10PM.

Citizens of the Royal Bean kingdom gather around.  This Saturday, December the 3^rd between 8 and 10 PM we’re having live music.

Brooks and Jones

Sarah Brooks and Kevin Jones have come together as musical partners to arrange and play great jazz standards from Gershwin, Porter, Ellington and more. A blend of piano, vocals, trumpet and bass bring a pleasing variety to their repertoire.

Sarah Brooks is a piano teacher in Raleigh who has been playing for 35 years and is classically trained in music. While Gershwin has been a long-time favorite – she played “Rhapsody in Blue” with orchestra for her senior recital in college – it wasn’t until recently that she began to learn how to play the more free style of jazz. Now she enjoys collaborating with Kevin Jones, a Chatham County journeyman musician and teacher.  Kevin is fond of saying,  ”Jazz music reminds me of  life:  often sweet, always spicy, and never do all the dissonant elements get completely resolved.  If Jazz were a woman she’d be complicatedly luscious.”  Jones has a Master’s degree in music composition and fancies himself a philosopher.

Saturday night we have live music from 8 until 10 PM.  Performing live will be “When Forever Comes”.  There an awesome local band and as always all live musical performances are free.  Drop by for some music and one of our coffee drinks.  We’re now carrying hot apple cider and peppermint lattes.

Bio: When Forever Comes was formed by brothers, Allan (guitarist and lead vocals) and Harrison (bass guitarist and lead vocals), in 2008. When Forever Comes wants to be relevant to those experiencing the same things in life as they do. Writing their own songs such as, “Closer” and “Falling Down,” have inspired their audience to enjoy music with meaning. How did they come up with their name? Amy Alley grew up in a little southern town west of
Charlotte NC amidst an interesting blend of transplants brought there by Charlotte’s banking merger boom. Growing up surrounded by a diversity of people
from larger cities around the world gave a broader world view to Amy’s  traditional southern background. She was introduced to the music of less  traditional artists like Ani Difranco and Melissa Ferrick, which added new
depth to her more conventional southern background of bluegrass and singers  like Iris Dement,

Emmylou Harris and Patty Griffin. The result for Amy is a  novel style of music that combines the influence of her hearty, spirited mountain  folk roots along with a raw, unconventional approach to the folk genre.
