We had a fantastic time last night at the Royal Bean’s first game night ever!  Our game night is just a causal affair.  Bring your friends with you or just bring out yourself to make new friends.  Either way we make it very easy to join a game for some friendly competition and prizes.  Yes, I said prizes!  Last night we setup a drawing to give away a free Royal Bean coffee mug and for two luckily game players a free drink.  We’ll probably change up what prizes we offer with each game night we host.

Join the Royal Bean Game Night Facebook event group for details and frequent updates, or to just make suggestions:

I am dedicating this post to show off the interior space of the Royal Bean Coffee House.  If it’s your first time coming in, then you’ll be surprised at how spacious our interior is.  We really a fantastic place with enough space to hold your event, business meeting, or simply a place to meet with a large group of friends, and so on.  Of course we have plenty of places to enjoy some space alone, though the Royal Bean can accommodate groups of people too.  You’ll see a large area in the front of the store where you can comfortable talk and meet with people.  From the middle of the store to the back we have a dozen tables, and if you want to pull a few together that’s fine with us.  Give us a call to reserve a spot so that you’re guaranteed an area for your group.  We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.  If you want a pot of coffee on your table, then we will bring it to your table or you can come up to the counter and order freshly brewed coffee, iced coffee, latte, cappuccino, fruit smoothies, and much more.  We a casual coffee house, too.  Feel free to grab one of over a dozen games to play with your friends.  We’re a host to live music each Saturday, the Open Mic Night for Poetry and Prose on the first Thursday of each month.  We’ve hosted Bat Mitzvah and Baby showers.  We have business groups that meet weekly.  Please just drop by and check out our menu and our space.  We’re between the Fair Grounds and NCSU.  We’re located only minutes from the 440 off the Meredith exit ramp.  And we make a mean cup of coffee because our coffee is roast locally and several times a week!

Royal Bean Events and Live music

Each Saturday the Royal Bean Coffee House plays host to live music between the hours of 8 and 10 pm.  Most of our musicians are local, though occasionally we’ll get visited by some out of town talent.  Either way our atmosphere and acoustics make for an enjoyable music scene.  Come sit back and relax on our comfy couches, order a hot chocolate or coffee drink, and enjoy our music.  It’s worth a visit I promise.  Look to the left for our events calendar for the dates and details of the next live performance.  Hit the events tab at the top on the menu bar or follow this link: http://royalbeancoffeehouse.com/blog/royal-bean-coffee-events/  for web links, YouTube videos, and bios of the musicians that will be performing live at the Royal Bean Coffee House and for past performances.

Live Music Saturday, September 24th, 2011.  Performing live will be Greyson Havens-Morris

Greyson Havens-Morris is a singer/songwriter from Chicago, IL trying something a little… différent.

A couple of years ago, a French professor at his former college suggested an entire show “en Francais”. Six months later the Dean of the College presented Havens-Morris with the 2010 “Outstanding Contributor to Cross Cultural Awareness” award for a fundraiser in which him and several other students performed French standards such as <<Aux Champs-Elysées>> <<Belleville Rendez-Vous>> and <<La Vie En Rose>> to aid students with travel expenses to the annual VCU French Film Festival at Richmond.

Ever since then he has turned American audiences on to the eclectic sounds of French music dating back to the 1940s – the present. But, listen closely, not all of it is entirely foreign. Havens-Morris loves to put a French twist on popular American and English tunes as well!

Like we said, it’s a little “différent” but worth coming down to the café this Saturday night (Sept. 24th) for a lovely evening! -Greyson Havens-Morris

We have an incredibly talented music coming to the Royal Bean this coming Saturday! It truly will be worth your trip to enjoy the live music and the special atmopshre that only the Royal Bean Coffee House can provide.  Please take the time to follow the links to listen to the music from ‘Neil Gribbs’.  You’ll love it!

Neil Gribbs will be performing live on February 26th, 2011

Short Bio:
“Neil Cribbs began playing music at the age of five. He played instruments such as violin, piano, trombone, and drums. Early in his life he primarily was influenced by symphonic music and groups from the 60s such as Cat Stevens, the Beatles, and James Taylor. After finding his mother’s guitar in the attic he began exploring the world of Alternative Country and Americana. Bands such as Whiskytown, Uncle Tupelo, Ryan Adams, Wilco, Sonvolt, Richard Buckner and the Old 97s paralleled with Joni Mitchell, Ani DiFranco, Beth Hart, John Prine, and Taj Mahal. After recording an album entitled “35 Sound Start” in 2006 the press, almost immediately, sold out. His newest album “Marionette” has been getting rave reviews from the media. Neil performs his haunting and moving yet distinctly Southern songs using the traveling troubadour’s tools of choice: an acoustic guitar, a harmonica, and his soulful voice.”
