You Know You Are Addicted To Coffee If…
You sleep with your eyes open.
You have to watch videos in fast-forward.
The only time you’re standing still is during an earthquake.
You can take a picture of yourself from ten feet away without using the timer.
The Taster’s Choice couple wants to adopt you.
The nurse needs a stop watch to take your pulse.
You grind your coffee beans in your mouth.
You can jump-start your car without cables.
You walk twenty miles on your treadmill before you realize it’s not plugged in.
You’ve built a miniature city out of little plastic stirrers.
People get dizzy just watching you.
Instant coffee takes too long.
You channel-surf faster without a remote.
You short out motion detectors.
You introduce your spouse as your coffeemate.
You don’t even wait for the water to boil anymore.
You answer the door before people knock.
Your birthday is a national holiday in Brazil.
You have a bumper sticker that says: “Coffee drinkers are good in the sack.”
You can type sixty words per minute… with your feet.
When someone says: How are you? You say: Good to the last drop
You haven’t blinked since the last lunar eclipse.
Hello Royal Bean loyal subjects! Happy holiday’s too all. The below article I picked off of Stockton and Graham’s Blog, which can be found here: http://stocktongraham.wordpress.com/2009/12/10/dear-joe-9/ . I’m always looking for useful information for all of my customers, so enjoy it starts below:
Dear Joe,

I’ve got a ton a customers coming in looking for coffee as a gift this season. Problem is, they ask me the best place to store the coffee before giving the beans away to their friends and family and I’m not sure what answer to give them. I’ve heard the freezer is OK, but I’m not sure. So, where is the best place to store coffee?
-Pat
Thanks for your question, Pat. This is a query that comes up rather frequently and it is an important one.
It is a common misconception that coffee retains its freshness best when stored in the freezer. While this sounds like a good idea in theory, the freezer is one of the worst places you can store whole bean or ground coffee. Freezing in and of itself is not the problem. The condensation that forms after the cold coffee from the icebox meets the warm air of the room is the real culprit. Any water that comes in contact with the coffee begins the extraction process well before it is ready to brew.
So, that brings us back to your original question. The best place to store coffee is in an airtight, opaque container away from direct sources of light. This can be in your customer’s pantry, closet, etc.
Whatever you do, don’t let them throw it in the freezer!
Yours in coffee,
Josiephius A. Graham

Hello coffee lovers! We now have a new seasonal flavored coffee available at the Royal Bean. We will start out with it in a prepackaged form, and then add it to our flavored coffees we serve! Please note that we are a locally owned and operated Coffee House that strives to provide the best quality coffee available. Our coffee beans including the Gingerbread Coffee in this post are roasted in Raleigh, NC at Stockton and Graham. Our coffee is of the highest quality and very fresh! It sounds so good: The spicy-sweet confections of Eastern Europe inspired this coffee. We’ve captured the scent and flavor of warm loaves of gingerbread fresh from the oven and complemented it with our blend of cinnamon and hazelnut for a uniquely snappy taste!

During this week starting tomorrow morning at 9 AM we are going to put out three self-services Coffee pots, each filled to the top with our newly create coffee blends! Come to the Bean to taste these blends for free! I’ll setup a sign and a station for this coffee test in front of the counter. Please join us to choose the new house blend for the Royal Blend. Thank you to everybody who participated at the “cupping” we held at the Royal Bean this past Saturday! We are working to develop our own signature blend for our house coffee, so we very much appreciate the help so far! We have narrowed down our list to two coffee blends. Details coming soon! This week we’d like to offer those who could not come to the cupping the chance to taste test our two blends and compare those to the house blend we have been using. Based on the results we will have chosen a new house blend designed by our customers. Tomorrow or Wednesday we will start the taste test. I will send an update tomorrow out on my Twitter!
